In the framework of the joint research cooperation project of the West Africa Institute (WAI) and the Center for European Integration Studies (ZEI) in Bonn, Germany, which analyzes obstacles to „Sustainable regional integration in West Africa and Europe“, two further WAI-ZEI Papers have been published.

During a recent working visit in Praia, the Regional Director of the UNESCO Office in Dakar, Senegal, Mrs. Ann Therese Ndong-Jatta and the leadership of WAI could identify possible areas of cooperation between the two institutions. UNESCO is one of the five Promoters of WAI. Mrs. Ndong-Jatta offered UNESCO's support in order to strengthen the outreach activities of WAI by using the UNESCO's g [ ... ]

Promoters have confirmed the role of WAI as a leading think tank on regional integration in West Africa during the recent meeting of the Executive Committee in Praia. The meeting adopted a new resource mobilization strategy based on the utilization of WAI´s academic services for the purpose of regional integration in West Africa.
